The southern christian leadership conference (Sclc)
The Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) is an African American civil rights organization. On January 10, 1957 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. invited 50 black americans to the Saint Ebenezer church following the Montgomery Bus Boycott. Their goal was to create an organization to manage and support non-violent action as a method of desegregating bus systems across the South.
